| This is the main navigation page for my artwork. Since there is such a
large diversity to the body of my work I've given them each their own listing.
Custom Work This page explains what materials and media I have worked with in the past. It's quite a large list believe it or not. I've had a lot of time to experiment, and I have no problem taking that knowledge and helping you with what your looking for. It also goes over different options you have when considering a piece. The range is really rather spectacular and if it's not listed feel free to contact me with any questions. There are whole catalogs devoted to papers, canvas's and artist's boards onto which an artist could transfer their work. That's not including different crafting materials such as basswood boxes, plates, clock faces, the list goes on and on. Previous Commissions Pieces on this page are NOT for sale. However I list it among the "gallery" pages so that if you are looking for an idea you can certainly see what I have come up with for clients in the past. Also I will post any pieces here when they are SOLD. Pieces on this page will only have media and dimensions listed. This page is to give you a one page overview of some of my work. Different media and subjects are displayed. Graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, pastel, acrylic, water colors, and mixed media 3D work. This page is not designed to be a complete listing of my work and may occasionally change. Also I will post on this page a hyperlink to any individual category which is displaying New Work. However to keep current on any new work please see On the Easel & In the Studio as all work in progress will be posted there first- most likely before it's completed.
Pieces Listed on the Pages
Below are originals-
BirdsNOT PRINTS All pieces in the following Gallery Pages are For Sale (unless otherwise posted) Large and small wild and domestic. Birds of all sorts will be here. It's not a large listing now, but if you would like to see more by all means let me know and especially if you have a particular species. Cats Domestic Cats only! Graphite, charcoal, acrylic, and pastel. Portraits and full scenes. I regularly do cat shows with TICA, so my list of breed reference pictures continues to grow. Is there a breed your looking for but don't see? let me know, I can certainly see what I have in stock and work from there! Dogs Pure breeds and mutts. Portraits and full body. Graphite, charcoal, acrylic, and pastel. I work with Green Grove kennels and the Great lakes Search & Rescue team. My references are big, but I'm always looking for that next "best friend" to add to my collection of stories and images. Fantasy Dragons, Vampires and Gods OH MY! From 2D Graphite, charcoal, acrylic, and pastel. to 3D dragon mounts, it'll be here! As wide of a variety as my brain can hold and as fast as my hands can make them. Check this page out regularly- the more hits it gets the faster the body of work grows! For those of you looking: Any art which may have real animals but are in an unrealistic or fantasy setting will be here. This includes the series of cats done in the "Festival" theme for TICA. Down the road if the interest is there I will be expanding this page to it's own related site. The original idea was to run two sites Morning Hawk Creations for the pet, animal and wildlife art and Raven's Sight for the fantasy sci-fi & horror genres. If the interest is there I will also incorporate any mythology work to this site. Horses All breeds. Graphite, charcoal, acrylic, and pastel. Some were commissions that were never paid for. Some are pure inspiration. Come down this way and see what comes around the bend. Small Animals & Exotics My lovely set of playful ferrets are almost always the stars on this page. But there are some other loving and unusual companions and pets here. Until there are number to merit it Reptiles, Amphibians, Spiders, Fish, Companion Rodents such as hamsters, rats, mice, and guinea pigs will be featured on this page. Media would include: Graphite, charcoal, acrylic, and pastel. Wildlife Large wild cats: Lions Tigers Cougars. Also because of the permits required Servals; (which are used to breed Bengals and Savannahs) will also be here- NOT in the cat page! Wolves, bobcats, lynxes, foxes. Some pieces are as large as 24x36 inches so if you find a piece please double check the size. They may also be already framed which would be reflected in the price. Media In my many years of creating art I have found that well, to be honest I get bored in one media. So to the bored go the spoils of having too much time on your hands. Here's a short list of the two dimensional (2D) media you can expect to find: Graphite (regular pencil) Watercolor Pen and Ink Charcoal Acrylics Markers Pastel and Pastel Pencil Colored Pencil Enamels And from there you can mix and match as the need arises or situation dictates. Those pieces in the collection which are of different media will be listed as "mixed media" and unless the list would get crazy I will state what I used. And three dimensional (3D)??? Ok the gloves go on and we're going to get messy cause the skies the limit!! Fabrics, Papers, Wood, Clays, Polymer Clays, PVC, Foam, Glass, Plastics, Found Items, Gem Stones, Metals, Furs .....Yeah we could be here all day.... But I do pretty much stop where we're talking stuff that's going to really smell or decompose- that defeats the purpose. A really common question I get is how long did that take you? It all depends on the project. I did spend two years on a dragon, but understand this dragon was a 20ft long 5ft tall full body mount of a western dragon. It was complete to every last scale (which were all cut out one by one by hand) And it was easily 8-10 hours per day 3-5 days a week for 2 years. Some of the 2D work doesn't take me that long anymore. It depends on how complex the layout is or how bad the ref shots are. Really bad ref shots may actually force me to use pictures from a completely unrelated animal or scene in order to make the picture work. When I'm not doing memorials the projects I create for myself are really rather challenging either because of the scene or the subjects in it. |
