If; when I'm finished completing your piece, you'd like me to have it framed and/or matted I can take it up to the people at Michaels Arts and Crafts to have it taken care of.

Key Benefits

  • Your having a professional framer help to pick out how to have your custom work displayed, instead of debating for weeks and months of what to do with it once it's home.

The longer a piece goes unprotected the bigger the risk of it getting damaged.

  • You can choose between pre-made or custom made frames. Mattes can be standard cut or custom cut and multilayered.  Michaels also has different grades of framing glass to choose from, including glare free, UV protective museum quality glass.

  • The piece you receive is ready to hang. Right out of the box. If you have specific requests concerning room decor or theme we will try to match your needs as best as possible. Including sending pictures of sample frames before they are purchased.
  • All mattes custom cut at Michaels are Acid Free to insure the longevity of your piece.

Capabilities:

Michaels has a huge variety of pre-made and custom frames. Their mattes comes in hundreds of colors finishes and textures. The professionals there have always treated my clients with the utmost respect when I take a piece in for completion.

In the case of custom made frames, Michaels can have the frame done in roughly 2 weeks, and mattes are cut within a few days. On pieces where the matting helps to frame the subject, the professionals at Michaels and I work together to insure that the subjects are centered and proportioned to the depth of the matte and the frame.  This means no tiny portraits around a HUGE matte and a thin frame.

SAMPLE:

In this memorial we have a triple matte of rust, sage green and silver  velour.  All three colors where picked to specifically accent the three colors in the memorial.  Zahra's memorial is under museum quality, non-glare, UV protected glass. The frame is custom made cherry wood with a lacquer finish.

It took two weeks to get the frame and mattes cut- it took 1 hour for them to finish it.

It's something Evelyn will enjoy for years.
