The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid, and deeds left undone. -Harriet Beecher Stowe-
It is understood that sometimes the pain of a loss doesn't go away. Memories that are like little treasures, held tightly in the hands of a child. Squeezed with the fearfulness of ever forgetting. Everyday occurrences which seemed so trivial now seem priceless. In my years talking with pet owners and having pets myself I can understand that heartache that comes with losing a beloved animal and best friend. In working with families, friends and clients I find it's easier if we look back at the past with a sense of nostalgia, not remorse. The past is a drop of water that has fallen in a pool, you can always get more water but it will never be the same. In doing memorials for clients, I like to think I'm helping in the healing process. Whether its with art or with words, it's helpful to be able to assist someone with moving on past the tragedy of the loss, and move onto celebrating a life well lived. Every animal has something to teach, something to give and something it should be remembered for. It is not the ties to humanity that make that creature unique but the very essence of it's being. The drive for survival, friends and family. Even is sickness and death animals look always and turn to the greatest in themselves and us. They may mourn, but, they do not linger in despair, and neither should we. Memorials in art are treated with the same respect and dignity as those who are ordering a "portrait" of living animals, who surround them daily. The greatest compliment I can get is knowing that in having the piece reminds the person to smile, and be thankful for the gifts of relationships that have been bestowed upon them. If your considering an art based
memorial of a pet of animal, please browse the

which may be featured on the site. Many of the pieces which are commissioned are
memorials to pets and companions that have passed on. If you decide on a look or
a media the Price
Guide can help you figure out the price range of the piece based on size and
media. For those who are unsure and may still be grieving, you can feel free to
e mail me and we can discuss the options and what might work best for you.
You're no committing to anything, just finding out information, and that's ok.
Even in this day and age it still feels good to talk with someone who
understands. Also provided is an additional list of resources for those looking
for other options and may not know where to turn. For others who may not wish to have
something specific to one pet, I have a collection of poetry and verses printed
out on vellum paper. Some are as familiar as the Rainbow Bridge, and others more
obscure such as a poem I found written by 12 year old Sam who lost her ferret
and had her poem "Love Kept Me" printed in Ferret Fancy magazine. After
printing, framing and matting the pieces hanging on the wall has often been the
end result. They become a peaceful reminder of great friendships, good times and
the tranquility that comes when suffering ends. As of recently I have incorporated the
use of my art and the poetry to create cards which could be sent to friends or
family in their hour of mourning. As soon as I can I will make those available
for ordering. Below are samples of such memorials, if you are interested in these please state the title of the poem, and any other specifics you feel are applicable. These are not displayed framed or matted. They are printed on 8x10 vellum paper, and after framing and matting would measure 11x14. These have been a very popular item in the past, and have been bought as personal treasures as well as gifts to shelters and veterinarians.
